Dhaka, 23 November, 2009 – The Kick Off ceremony for the implementation of TEMENOS T24TM Online-Banking System at Janata Bank Limited was held at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel on Monday. Economic affairs advisor to Prime Minister, Dr. Mashiur Rahman was present as the Chief Guest and kick-off the ceremony. The Chairman of the Board of Janata Bank Limited Dr. Abul Barkat was present as special guest. The ceremony was presided by Mr. S M Aminur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, Janata Bank Limited.
In his speech Dr. Mashiur Rahman said “The country would achieve economic progress faster if the technological services can be made available to the people”. He also added, "It would be unfortunate if we keep people away from the advantages of the technological advancement”.
Dr. Abul Barkat said Janata bank aims to automate all its 850 branches by December 2011. He assured to extend their full cooperation to achieve the target. He also added as the second largest bank in Bangladesh they are committed to provide service to it’s clients within the shortest possible time by using the best technology available.
Mahboob Zaman, Managing Director, DataSoft Systems Bangladesh Limited depicted about the challenges of implementing the software to automate all the 850 branches of Janata Bank and request for cooperation from all stakeholders. He also added, automation of Janata Bank’s 850 branches will lead the nation to establish the concept of Digital Bangladesh.
In their speech Mr. S M Aminur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, Janata Bank Limited had described the aim of the project and the rigorous process they have gone through of selecting DataSoft to implement TEMENOS T24TM at Janata Bank.
Among others Manjur Mahmud, Director & COO and Dil Afroz Begum, Director HR & Admin of DataSoft, Ravindra Sumant Pathare, Business Development Manager of Temenos, attended the event.
